Dropped Tailgate

It's not causing any actual problems but the belt line across the boot lid is lower than the rest of the car which is bugging me. So the tailgate has clearly dropped a few mm which is quite a common issue I understand. I'll mention it when it goes in next month but in the mean time,
a) does anyone know whether such things are covered on the used warranty? (I'm assuming not).
b) It seems a pretty straight forward DIY job to sort - anyone done it?
c) I'm a little nervous DIYing it in case I make it worse - I have it in my head it's less than an hours work for a competent bodyshop who have to align them when they replace them anyway. I have a friendly place near here - again, anyone had one re-aligned? If it's <£100 to sort I might bob it down there.

Boot spoliler off, disconnect the boot lid struts, slacken the 4 nuts for the 2 hinges and give it a shove and retighten. Best to have one person holding it in it's new position and one person to re-tighten the nuts otherwise it's a bit tricky!

As you say less than an hour start to finish. With regards to warranty I very much doubt it, although there was a TSB for wrongly manufactured hinges many years ago, but wouldn't be applicable to a recent vehicle.

Thanks - so just need to decide if I'm prepared to take my RRS apart or whether I'm more comfortable asking my pal at the bodyshop for an hour's labour. 2021 L494 D300MHEV Autobiography

If you are doing it yourself, when unbolting the spoiler hold the studs with a torx socket whilst you remove the 10mm nut as the stud is also used to adjust the spoiler height so you don't want to disturb the length of them.

Only other thing to watch is just be aware of the wiring into the spoiler for the aerials and stop lamp bar and hose for the rear washer jet, it just needs someone to support it while you unplug them, apart from that there's nothing much you can cock up.
