My 3.0L V6 has just covered 140,000kms and I got the mechatronic seals changed out yesterday. Obviously, as it drove out of the workshop, the shift points were all over the place. Furthermore, there was an obvious lag shifting from 3rd to 4th.

generally I wouldn't update it. However, there is a fix for something call the californian shunt or stop.

Not sure everyone is against software updates, personally don't really see the logic in updating something unless someone has a issue of some sort which it may rectify, but on L/R previous record of updates it sometimes make the situation worse. |

I'd be cautious about software updates. There is always that outside chance that you could brick your vehicle if something does go wrong. Also, there's the chance the update solves one problem, introduces another. So I would not update unless absolutely necessary. |
