Poland 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Lux Fuji White

Nobody other than T seems to be up for this. So I’m going to get T’s setup put together and sent to him and adjust prices for adhoc orders. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

England 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

This doesn't make sense to me. Why are people content to have no lights in the back? Only yesterday, I picked up a couple of friends from a place with no street lights. It was a PITA having to explain that they would have to turn the lights on and off as they were getting in.

As I said earlier, I previously looked at doing this myself, but have never got around to doing it. Thanks to you, this little kit is taking all the thought, research and sourcing problems away so it's hassle free and a doddle to fit. Cool

Just shout when you want the balance and my address etc. Thumbs Up

That is true. I did mine a week after buying the car in December cause man it’s dark in there with black leather and carpet.

keltick is going with the expanded lighting kit and I think TheWojtek wants to upgrade to this setup as well. It’s not really “hard” to install, just not as easy as the backseat lighting setup.
This is from last night and is a good representation of the extra light in the cargo area with the expanded lighting kit:

This week I’ll be ordering parts for keltick’s kit. T, your parts are on their way to me and I will get your kit together as soon as everything is here. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

Right now I’m just acquiring parts as people make deposits. Roughly 1-2 weeks for them to be sent. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory

Written instructions:

First let’s make sure you got it all:

1 wire harness
2 lights
5 zip ties
1 solid core pull wire

The install should take around 30-60 minutes depending on your skill level and It can be done by one person with fairly minimal skills. You will notice the harness has an extra plug, this is for the optional Expanded Light Kit.

1 Open the rear doors and main tailgate

2 Remove the original back seat map lights and leave them hanging so the wires don’t disappear into the headliner. Note: look at the included lights, the light is only the middle portion with the switch, not the outer trim piece. If you remove the outer trim piece you’re in for bigger problems, don’t do it.

3 Remove the parcel shelf if fitted

4 Remove and unplug the cargo light.

5 Pull back/remove the tailgate seal from the left and right sides and top (check for dirt at the top first and clean if necessary) Note: DO NOT close the tailgate with the seal partially removed

6 Pry away both left and right side lower interior quarter panels, only pull away enough for access

7 Pry off both left and right side upper rear D pillar trims and slide them down the seatbelts

Right side (shorter leg):

8 Run the included solid core wire from the backseat map light opening to the opening where the inner D pillar trim was.

9 Hook or tape the leg of the harness to the solid core wire and gently pull it through to the back seat map light opening. Note: the harness connectors need to come in at the front of the back seat map light housing same as the factory wiring.

10 Unplug the original light and plug the factory connector into the new harness

11 Plug the new light into the new harness and install into the headliner. Optional: zip tie the new harness wire to the factory wires

Left side (longer leg)

12 Route the left leg of the harness across the top of the headliner to the left side

13 On the left side perform steps 8, 9, 10 and 11

Leg to cargo light:

14 Route the harness over the sunroof drain (if fitted) to the wire loom running down the D pillar. Zip tie the harness to the loom at the top, somewhere near the cargo light and somewhere in the middle.

15 Route the new harness over to the cargo light opening, Plug the factory harness into the new harness (back seat lights may come on at this point).

16 Route the new harness through the cargo light opening and plug in the cargo light

17 Check for backseat map light operation. If the lights did not come on in step 15 and you have LED bulbs fitted, you may need to rotate them 180°

18 If all is working begin reassembly in the reverse order. Install the upper D pillar trim pieces, reattach the lower inner trim panels, reaffix the tailgate seal making sure all panels are secured behind the lip of the seal (copious amounts of whacking is encouraged to seat everything in)

19 With everything reassembled fully check functionality with the front overhead light middle button, doors, tailgate and that both lights work independent as map lights with the door lights off.

20 Once satisfied your L320 backseat map lights are working how they should have from the factory, it’s time to relax knowing nobody else is going to be impressed your interior lights work how they should. 2011 RRS HSE Luxury 3.0 TDV6 Fuji White on Ebony/Ivory
