Remapping a RR TDV8

Has anyone had a 3.6 TDV8 remapped? If so has it made any difference to the fuel consumption and increased performance and approximate cost of a stage 1 remapping?

Hello,

a lot of people rate BAS (Bell Auto Services), which I intend to use also for my TDV8.

It'll pay you to get the EGR's blanked off also at the same time and get the patch for deactivation, also from BAS.

I did the EGR delete x2 earlier this year, not difference to mpg or performance, it will run cleaner as there meant to afterwards because the EGR's remain closed at idle, where normally they would be open.

Alive also do tuning, but there network of reps are next to useless, well near me anyway.

Dean

Alive has excellent customer service when it comes to DIY (using their OBD tool) remaps, though. Regards etc.,

BAS are helpful - Pete can come across as a prickly at times, but he will answer you by email.

Alive I found OKish, there network of installer/mappers are pretty clueless on the benefit and sound like they want you money moreover giving advice. They mention Gary alot, but he's completely uncontactable, so useless there, head office is similar - always referring back to Gary.

BAS is your best bet.

I had my S/C done by Alive Tuning and never had any problems with them, I did however take the car to them up in Lincolnshire, as I had them upgrade the s/c pulley at the same time as doing the remap, also had the car run on their dyno as well to see what figure's we got.

That’s all well and good Col, but Gary has taken a back seat I understand for family reasons and mapping from home, I mean by what I say that you can’t speak to the horses mouth anymore and get told by his associates at HQ they’ll speak to him or suggest you email Gary direct.

Unfortunately neither seem to work, so your then dealing with their mappers network whereby, they do the mapping as a sideline to their busy daily garage running, they haven’t a clue and can’t answer technical questions and obviously can speak to Gary directly and do so on your behalf. If like some and myself included, you want to find out what your getting or ask technically minded questions, your speaking to the wrong end of the horse so to speak quite literally, only Censored comes out.

Enough said, BAS all the way, as other forums have suggested and will take said route in the next few days.
