Telematics Unit Replacement

Hi All
It looks like my telematics unit has failed as it has no Mac Address or IMEI number.
Is it possible to fit a second hand one to my car? I have SDD and Pathfinder software, but just wanted to check to see if it can be done, and how you program the unit to recognise the smart key?

The OCD side off me wants it sorted!

I have booked to take it to Pentland LR in Edinburgh, but not holding out much hope of them repairing it without a hefty bill!
