Rob, did you finish the job ?
Btw, I use the 12 volt socket between the seats.

After the Hebrides, stayed on the Atlantique coast of France for 25 nights and 7 nights on trip to Versailles Palace, 3 nights @100 metres from the main gate. Plus many UK trips. Just got back from 3 nights at the Land Rover Event in Edinburgh. The Landrovers I accompanied took 1.5 hours to pack their caravans, tents and awnings away whilst I just put my chair and table in the back. 🤣

My minimal set up is fabulous to use for tripping. Set up on the drive at home and 5 minutes to pack and leave after breakfast. I don’t normally eat where I’m going to overnight to maximise stealth. Not paid any camp site fees since I started.

Still using this setup without any changes. Rarely take the fridge with me on trips, but I would if going to a hot climate.

The simple solution to a long bed is to take the front passenger seat out or make it fold fully horizontal or below the level of your wood platform.
If you are in a supermarket car park or town square you cannot put a tent up !! Always listen to old people or when they die you will live on in ignorance.

Dont spend money on old cars you will never get it back
