my car was running great then up pops message engine shutting down ..then it stopped ..turned key off then on lit up but no crank no start..emergency flashers active but not controllable door locks going in and out...i put diagnostic tool but so many faults most say immplausible signals or no signal ..aa man came said nothing wrong battery or alternator ..would you believe it started first time for him..he suggested earthstrap body to engine..so when i got home i put strap from battery negative to good connection on engine car started but only lasted few miles and shut down again...any ideas im stumped 2009 2.7 diesel stormer 9ok could this be the brake fault ive read about
UPDATE
so it eventually started cleared faults and reread no faults on gap iid left it running for about ten minutes and flashers started so i plugged in the gap tool and all it said was turn on ignition over and over again filled whole page all this time engine continued to run ....any ideas

could be the instrument cluster. (solder defects inside). You can get them repaired.

Hi im at a loss maybe you are right ..runs well for ages then goes crazy ..gap tool no faults ..im taking it to electrician before i blow it up! see my last update.....it did say dasboard communication lost but it said it about the lot gap says turn ignition on but its already running ..haaaagh thanks for reply
