IN CONTROL APP ISSUES

I bought a 2019 sdv8 Autobiography sport at the end of May this year and when i tried to subscribe to the in control app it wouldn't let me log in. spoke to Land Rover customer care who said it had a current subscription that expires on 16/06/25 and said if i paid the subscription charge now, they could get it all sorted and working for me on the existing subscription and my new 12 months subscription would start from the 17/06/25.

Since this call its all worked fine until 2 days ago when my 12 months was due to start. When you try to log in it says subscription expired.

Call Land Rover customer care and get told it might need a software update and to book it in with local dealer. Call local dealer who say they would need to do a diagnostic check to see if it needs an update at £210 + vat plus the cost of any updates it may require.

Car was serviced at Land Rover under 12 months ago and has software update on the invoice.

I feel like someone is trying to rip me off here as i cant see why i would need to pay for a car to be plugged in at a big expense just to renew an APP subscription.

Can anyone advise me with this as i never had any of this with my SVR when i renewed the subscription 3 years in a row. 2019 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography Velocity blue.

I would just remind them that you paid for another year.
It has probably not been added " to the end" of the subscription.
Get customer service to sort it out. 2023 P440e SE Dynamic on order -cancelled

There’s nothing to diagnose from what I understand.
The app and subscriptions have nothing directly to do with the car. It’s between the app on your phone and the JLR servers. The car simply checks those but if the app is showing the wrong info, that’s for JLR CC to sort. Even the software update to the car is done over the internet (I had to do one to sort mine) so no need for the dealer.
