Hello all

I've found this site when searching for possible fixes for my RRS which won't start. It's a wealth of information which I look forward to reading to learn what I can.

In the meantime I'm trying t see if I can figure what's happened to my RRS. It's possible I left the ignition on when I went away for a week as I turned it on to check the total mileage, and I'd left the Ctek on so the battery was full when I got back. This is only a thought, as I remember noticing the dash still on when I jumped out but I remember thinking this was normal (usually the central screen anyway?).
When I arrived back there was only a fast clicking, I suspect the starter solenoid. A few days later this clicking stopped, just displaying a red battery warning on the dash. I hoped it was just a dead battery but have swapped this out and it's still the same, but the battery voltage drops very fast even after a full charge, so I'm thinking a short somewhere. Due to it sitting on my drive and recent poor weather I've been limited in what I've been able to check, but after getting the below codes I've checked the glowplugs which are all at 1.2Ohm (measured at the brown and grey plugs on top of the engine under the cover.

Before I start ripping out starter motors, alternators and the like does any more knowledgeable persons have any pointers on what and how to check?

Hi there,
I realise your post was nearly three years ago and it's a very long shot!!
Totally out of the blue, my 2012 RRS made no attempt to start and a scan has thrown up exactly the same 9 codes.
Did you get to the bottom of the problem?

Have you checked the engine earth ?

Hi there, thanks for replying. It was the earth strap in the drivers side wheel arch. Virtually fell apart in my hand! So much for both an auto electrician and mobile repair man who both said the starter had failed.
