Revive turbo cleaner

Hello,

Towing the caravan recently I had

P132B-21 (6Cool ‘turbo boost control A performance - general signal failure - signal amplitude< minimum

I’d seen the code twice July/august ‘24 and again 3 times on a steady incline on the motorway with the caravan on the back.

I’ve checked for mists of oil on the manifolds/rockers and can’t see any oily residue, I’ve yet to thoroughly check over the boost hoses.

I did speak to a specialist who thought it might be related electrically from another sensor on the car as it’s all being monitored when driving by the ECU, as looking up the code it looks to be electric wire/short circuit issue possibly?

I have recently had my EGR’s blanked (x8r) and a BAS patch for EGR delete from Pete as BAS.

The last 3 triggers for the code were after the EGR’s were deleted.

I am now thinking of using a couple of bottles of Revive Turbo cleaner, one down each hose to turbo after the MAF sensor.

Can anyone recommend anything besides, the specialist wanted £80 plus bag to plug his diagnostics in to interpret the parameters, which will look deeper so I’m told than my GAP iid.

Has anyone used Revive and seen that their similar issues went away. Or maybe that it’s not wise to use the cleaner.

My 3.6 tdv8 had reconditioned turbos fitted at approx 60,000 miles, and it has now done 97,500.

Any help and andvice appreciated.

Cheers in advance

Dean

I’ve put wynns cleaner into the fuel tank, to successfully sort (decoke) the turbo vvt.

Do you loose all power when going up hill? If not, I wouldn’t worry too much.

Luckily had it happen just before Strensham services, restricted performance error, deeper exhaust note, smoke from exhaust. Checked GAP and pulled that code, cycled ignition, all ok.

On way home was more scary, on slight incline near top of incline over say a couple of miles on M1, happened twice, had to pull over onto hard shoulder twice before M42 exit. You can appreciate was a nervy experience with the caravan in tow.

With this now happening the towing will stop and we’ll now use my Mrs’s Merc ML350 diesel.

I’ve used wynns turbo cleaner myself, but can’t see how that works so well as it’s in the fuel and can’t see it making its way to the VVT turbo so well after combustion?

That’s why I’m considering Revive turbo cleaner next.
