Is tried to charge my iPhone recently using a cigarette lighter adapter to usb to charge my phone.

The output from the cigarette lighter was terribly poor and hardly charged the phone.

Could it be a wattage issue, or maybe be the adapter I’m using.

Any thoughts or recommendations.

I'd guess the adaptor as I use one in the rear seat cigarette lighter to charge my Galaxy S21 in the car and it works fine.

I use the rear one with a long USB lead to a cradle by the A pillar because the one in the front console is used to power my dash cam. Yes, I should probably hard-wire the dash cam but it's worked fine for years and, well, I'm lazy.  2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

probably the adaptor.

See what amps it says it is. Normal is 2A

1A is ok, but will charge slowly, so not so good if you are using the phone as SAT NAv
