Snow Chains

Would you fit snow chains to front or rear tyres if you only have two ? Logic to me would be put on the back to go up the mountain but the rear to descend, I had a look in the vague online owners manual and I think it say to fit to the rear but I worry that could be dangerous on a descent MY24 Dynamic SE,MY21 HSE Silver, MY20 SQ7, MY 18 RRS HSE Dynamic , MY 16 RRS Autobiography now gone & MY 2005 Discovery 3 HSE that I will be buried in !

I always take 2 sets of chains/socks with me. In theory you should be fine with one set, but if the police are pulling people over and forcing them to chain up it isn't worth the hassle.

I prefer the snow socks as some much lighter and easier to deal with, just make sure that have the TUV and EU approved standards on them or they are accepted.
