Help with tyres please

I'm getting very near to needing two new front tyres on my L320 and I'm getting a bit of info overload with all the different types.

I've currently got Pirelli scorpion zero asimetrico 275/40ZR20 106Y.

Ideally I want to go up to 45's for a bit more comfort so in the mind set of swapping out all 4.

No off roading mainly motorway A road and town driving.

I'm looking for a quiet comfortable ride.

Been offered the following from a local fitter but as said could do with some input if poss.

Scorpion zero but 110H not Y

Falken FK520

Scorpion Verde all season

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 Autobiography Stornoway Grey

Hello,

When I bought my Autobiography Sport 2010, it had General Grabber AT3's with 275/45/20 tyres.

I hated them, yes their a off road tyre, but like you I do road driving only - they didn't do it for me and the road noise was offensive! Comfort wise I had nothing to compare them to, as that what was fitted when I bought the car 2nd hand, out of preference I'd fit standard manufacturer size.

I now upgraded to 22" Overfinch Elara's with 285/35/22 Falken FK510 Azenis which are really quiet and handle really well.

As for comfort, I don't understand peoples perception of fitting taller tyres from what was fitted standard from the factory, if I hadn't of opted for the 22's, I'd of fitted 275/40/20's as standard.

The 275/45/20 do throw your speedo out by approx 2/3mph (under-read), but you can adjust that with GAP iid if you have it?

Falkens are up there with Continental and Michelin, at a fraction of the price. If your near Evesham/Birmingham, I can highly recommend WheelMania for tyres, I paid £175 a tyre for Falkens in the 22" size.

Hope this helps

Dean

Thanks Dean,

The price point of the Falkens is definitely a plus @ 160 a corner but was worried I would be getting a lesser quality although reviews seem to be pretty solid, I can get the pirelli verde all seasons for 190 don't know what people's thoughts are on using summer tyres all year round but the pirelli's that are currently on it are summer ones and I've not got a garage or room to store another set of wheels.

Not really been that concerned on my previous cars as just put cheap stuff on but cause of the weight factor i don't really want to put just anything on.

Like I said the price point for the Falkens are spot on, read the reviews.

I have the FK510's like I mentioned.

FK520 = Fuel C / Wet weather A 70db noise (wheelmania price per corner is £150.54 at the moment). Pirelli's are £250 a tyre.

I'm overly happy so far with the Falkens, came Highly recommended by owner of Wheelmania, they run them their selves on their own cars and swear by them.

I've used Falkens on sporting cars for decades without issue.

Scorpion Verde are all season. A compromise for all seasons. If you intend to use the RRS in snow, then I would recommend them.

If you work from home when it snows, then go for something else

England 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Santorini Black

I fitted a set of Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 on mine a year ago and have been very impressed with them.

They're not the quietest tyres I've had, but the braking in the rain is about the best I've ever had on any of my Defenders, Discoverys or Range Rovers.

I'll get them again next time too . . .

Another vote for Falkens. My car came with them and last year I replaced all four with another set. Price is what you pay, value is what you get. Falkens are great value.
