I haven’t run across any sharp shale that could cut or puncture the tire. Mind you I’ve only had it make contact in normal height, not in off road height.

| RRSTDV8 Member Since: 12 Aug 2011 Location: Northamptonshire Posts: 9159      | Haven't had a problem so far. You can buy a plate that stops the spare from being stolen, and I have one of those fitted, but it doesn't cover the tyre. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
