Why all in capitals? Tim
RRS sold and replaced with a Skoda Kodiaq after appalling RR Dealer experience and LR inability to supply new cars in any sort of reasonable time frame..

Apparently all orders not in build are to be increased — per dealership .
Have you heard different ?

It depends on the model, the PHEV cars have a pressurised fuel system and do lock, the normal Defenders don't lock either. It was the first thing to be deleted from the BCM after the chip shortage.

How it works with the first MOT is anyone's guess, I've been told its a failure if the cap can't be locked.

You can buy a locking third party cap for the Defender but there isn't enough room in either the RRS or FFRR for the same solution.

It doesn't have to lock as in "lock with a key", it just has to be secure as in "doesn't allow leaks".

Yep, agree, but how many over zealous testers are going to have a different take on it, it'll be the ones that mark that the engine covers are fitted as an advisory.

There's a flap inside the neck as well, but my concern is not the fuel coming out, its what some numpty might introduce into the fuel system, sugar in petrol, petrol into diesel.

I agree that not having a locking filler (or at least a locking flap as is the norm these days) is bad, but it's not an MOT fail. I'd be surprised if any MOT testers fail cars without a locking filler. A leaking filler? Yes. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Hi,

I’ve just checked my new (24MY) D300 AB.

With the vehicle both single and double locked, the fuel filler flap is LOCKED.

You can hear an actuator operating near the fuel filler when locking / unlocking the vehicle.

Just seen this post - but same with mine. Locks on single and double. Must have been a chip shortage during Covid.
