Red Suspension light ride height sensor lost contact

2 weeks ago my car was struggling to start as the battery was on its way out and called the AA, once started the Red suspension light came on I know these struggle if the battery is bad I change the battery but the light remand on, the car drives but steering is heavy and suspension wont do anything, i took to a local garage just for a quick look but doesn't do land rovers, his Diagnostic machine was snap on so a good make but wouldn't connect to suspension and says lost contact, he pulled the relay and put a wire across and the pump worked instantly so I know the compressor is ok. but he doesn't wont to spend time on it at the moment. any ideas where to start guys I'm assuming its an electrical issue somewhere . I've been told since I put this up that when on a diagnostic machine it says ride height levels lost contact.

I would check the belt. (And maybe the tensioner at the bottom at fault)
See what it looks like when engine running.

Maybe the following things aren’t being driven fully.

Ace suspension (if you have the bottle with yellow cap on drivers side)
Steering pump
Alternator

If he bridge the pump relay and the pump works, perhaps you might want to change the relay or at least test that it's working as it should.
