Problems with a ghost 2

When I got my latest vehicle, an insurance condition was to get an immobiliser fitted. I went for the ghost 2. Largely it works well.

When I come to disarm it, I find the pin entry process is unreliable. I am 100% certain of the correct pin Smile and I know to leave at least 10 secs between attempts, but at the moment I find ut works about 1 time in 4. If instead I disarm it using using my mobile phone app it is 100% oercent reliable.

I’m torn between an electrical problem or a timing problem or other?

Just wondered have other members had similar problems? And what was the fix?

Would it not be worth contacting the installation engineer ? 2010 RRS 3.6 TDV8 HSE Galway Green

Could be something as simple as a sticky or faulty button?

Maybe try changing the code to a different combination.

Not sure of your model year but I remember when I had mine installed there were some buttons that they recommended not using. 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?

I have had a similar issue with one of my cars previously whereby the car was receiving what it thought was spurious messages in the can network and seemed to shut that component down . This was rectified by disconnecting the car battery for five minutes and then reconnecting.. bizarrely it worked and the component started working perfectly again…it’s worth a try!

Thanks for the replies.

In the end I found the fault by repeatedly using the relevant buttons for there intended function until I found one that was unreliable. I then used the unreliable button repeatedly and I assume cleaned it. Ghost has been a lot more reliable since RRS 4.4 SDV8 AB 2018 – Best of all previous vehicles
