Order dilemma: Received MY23 PHEV440e AB but MY24 ?

Dear All,

Desperately need your advice...this is a first world problem, so acknowledged...

As some of you know, I was lucky enough to take delivery of my MY23 AB car a few weeks ago. Dealer has informed me a MY24 build slot is available for Jan 2024, with an early Feb 24 delivery late (likely to wait for a March 1st 24 collection). Spec will be identical (will change from full size spare to space saver)

I'm very pleased with the current car and had it price protected. So the questions are, do I make a loss (currently unknown) and pay a premium to get a slightly improved car or do nothing ?

With the on-going insurance challenges, I am seeing more PHEV AB cars coming on to the market and concerned about future residuals.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Just a matter if you want to take a (relatively) huge loss now or let yourself a couple of years to have a decent, well maintained example of a 2023 that will be worth more than a random 2024... Regards etc.,

Wojtek

I'd be staying with what I had. Changing is going to cost you and you're unlikely ever to see that money again. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I think the market is becoming saturated with the new RRS

I was offered 13k above what I paid back in April and now its worth 10k less than I paid so a 23k swing in 6 months.

Unless you have a confirmed price to change I would be sticking with the car you have.

Some of that price drop is down to insurance issues it seems. Plenty of people being put off by significant 4-figures sums for insurance. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Perhaps the market is realising that bought new they are now vastly overpriced. Tim
RRS sold and replaced with a Skoda Kodiaq after appalling RR Dealer experience and LR inability to supply new cars in any sort of reasonable time frame..

Many of us have known they were overpriced for several years now. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

A Vertu dealer was trying to convert me to a diesel off a list of 68 cars good to go or only weeks away.

Something as changed with the demand. ——————————————

L461 is not performing for JLR. Demand has fallen off a cliff.

They are going through the factory pretty quickly (was there recently) and there are 1000’s of back orders for them..
