Hi, I want to check and top up the rear diff oil - could anyone please advise how to do this? Thanks

On the L494 just top it up until a small amount runs out of the filler/level plug.

For some reason both pictures mention rear diff, however I think the top picture is the front diff, but sure someone like DM will be able to confirm which is which, although the principle is the same on both.

^ mate, if you need to top up the oil in the rear diff, there's a very good chance that the bearings have run a touch dry.

Listen out for a slight whining noise, if you do hear it, unfortunately it will mean a new diff.

Happened to me, and it barely leaked out 2 tablespoons of oil on the driveway.  --
