Northern Ireland 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Siberian Silver
2018 HSE DYNAMIC CAME TO A SUDDEN HALT

Guys, driving home this evening and all of a sudden my Sport came to a sudden halt, fast lane of a dual carriageway so wasn’t ideal lol. Low battery & AEB not available showed up on dash. Despite numerous attempts it wouldn’t start and then decided to stick in Park mode and then threw up gearbox fault on the dash. Recovery called and they’ve now taken the Sport to their yard. Any ideas or thoughts? Looking at some posts of the RRS net, common issue seems to be a shot battery, is this possible whilst the vehicle is in motion and I never had a battery warning light illuminate. 2018 SDV6 Dynamic - Silicon Silver

It is possible you are describing a battery issue. If cells were severely damaged and not receiving a charge from the alternator then you could have driven it to the point where can bus etc got less than min of 5V resulting in generating faults across the whole car.

Did it crank okay when you tried to restart and did the recovery company test battery / charging most carry a battery tester and volt meter?

He’s got the 3.0 diesel. Snapped crank sounds plausible… Gone: 10MY L320 RR Sport HSE, Ipanema Sand

England 2013 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Autobiography Firenze Red

I had something very similar happen to me , it turned out the Alternator cooked itself taking the battery out with it, had both replaced and all the faults cleared that came up and it was fine afterwards, still cost me £800 all in though from a Land Rover garage.
Good luck
Chris
