Steering wheel change; non heated to heated - clock spring.?

To all,

I would be grateful of any help & information anyone could give relating to changing from a non heated to a heated steering wheel (obv in a L494). Does the clock spring need to be changed to a clock spring specifically for a heated steering wheel?

If this is indeed the case, and a clock spring for a heated steering wheel is required does anyone know of any options other than getting a clock spring from a main dealer (£163+vat I believe).

Thanks

Clock spring is different. Without heated wheel there is no connector on the clock spring for the little red plug to supply power.

I too am in the same position as you and planned to get one from Ebay that came from a broken car that previously had a heated clock spring.

Let me know if you find the part number.

Thanks Col,

Fitted the correct clock spring only £30 which included indicator and lights assembly too. Heated steering wheel works perfectly.
