L494 rear callipers rebuild with EPB is it possible?

Hi all,

Well ten months in to owning my 2nd RRS it has decided to throw a minor tantrum and thrown a EPB warning at me. After plugging in the IID tool it lead me to removing the rear wheels and both motors were cracked. Took the LHS calliper off sand split the motor from the calliper and it had all rusted. The teeth had worn on the motor side and also on the calliper.

Now what I’m wondering is, is there a rebuild kit available with the correct replacement parts. Some of the motor factors say exchange units so they are obviously being refurbed somewhere….

If I can’t rebuild then there just going to go in to the recycling…..

I had the same problem but mine seized on so I ended up on a breakdown truck.
Autodoc do a refurb kit but will take at least a week to arrive.
the motors are about £70 on eBay and full paint refurb of the callipers is around £250 2015 RRS DIESEL HYBRID
