Full hatch on L320 won’t go down

Firstly sorry if this has been covered before but I’ve an issue with my boot lid . I own a 2011 L320 chassis Range Rover sport .

The boot lid has intermittently not opened afew times today when pressing the interior button or with the key fob . The lock releases but I have to manually open and manually close , the switch on the boot lid doesn’t seem to be doing anything.

The boot lid stays up when lifted

Had the same happen with mine last week on my MY2013. Managed to get tailgate open and then applied lots of WD40 and worked it into the latch in the tailgate. Fine ever since. There is no replacement for displacement - W O Bentley

If it's a powered tailgate it won't power down on it's own anyway off the key or interior switch if I remember right, unless it has had the "power close mod" fitted. Just wondered if it has if that was playing up.

Cheers

Hi my tail gate opens ok just won’t lift up on its own ( intermittently) ALthough stays up if I lift it manually . But there’s a button my tail gate for closing nothing happens now when I press it to close .

No but I’d like to get the mod .

As I said the lock releases ok but for some reason won’t always go up on its own with out me giving it some help and I have to manually put it down Question ..

Mine did something similar at one point and would only release but a second push of the switch and it went up, closed ok from the tailgate switch though, It did only seem to do it when ambient temp was high which probably isn't the case over there at the moment. I did however replace the switch that fit's between the rear number plate lights and it has been fine ever since and that was a few years ago now. Also have the power close mod fitted.

Cheers
