Solid Wheel Nuts

I'm sure I don't need to explain the problems with the standard wheel nuts blooming and not being able to get a 22mm socket on....

However, we had a disco3/4 member in last week for service & belts (thanks Jason) and I noticed he had some very tasty looking SOLID stainless steel wheel nuts with no caps on his D4. I had to ask him where he got them from and he kindly sent me the following link....

https://wrington.co.uk/landrover%20alloy%20wheel%20nuts.html

They are a bit pricey, but considering how many times you might need to change the standard type and be happy in the knowledge that you'll not be stuck on some road on a wet/windy night with a useless nut wrench, probably worth it.

I had heard of using Ford Transit nuts which are solid and the same size/pitch, but never got around to looking in to them.

We always keep a stock on standard (capped) nuts for changing as required when the old one's are shot on customer cars. It really makes no difference if they are 'genuine' LR nuts or cheap eBay ones, except in price! So we've always gone cheap and charged cheap.

Noticing that we were getting low on stock, I went to eBay to order some more and found these..

I was a bit sceptical at the claim of being solid, but ordered them anyway.

I can confirm that they are indeed solid and don't have the Censored cap (right nut)! Unlike the fancy stainless steel ones from Wrington, these are chrome plated steel (left one) .

Those in the know, know. Those that don't know, just need to ask.

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

I replaced the rubbish LR nuts with solid ones. It cost me well over £20,000. But I did get a 12-plate SDV6 thrown in with them. Rolling with laughter

I was going to do them on my old TDV8 but then bought the SDV6 from Dr Rob of this forum and he'd already put solids on it when he owned it. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

OvalAutos, The ebay listed one's. Do you know if they fit a 2015 Sport. Their compatibility chart says no, but farther down on their list it says yes. Seems a god price if they are solid Range Rover Sport: Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe: 992 Porsche Carrera 4S
