Bonnet vent packing ?

Hi, whilst under the bonnet topping up the screen fluid I noticed what appeared to be a small black plastic bag stuck inside the bonnet vent hole ? Checked the other side and the same ????? Seems to be a soft foam inside the bags. Anyone else noticed this ?

I found similar in my rear panels. I thought for a sec the previous owner has hidden his stash but no Laughing

yeah same I thought they were for sound deadening or somethign and were in bags to stop them rotting. If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!

Probably helps to stop a vibration causing a resonance in the bonnet skin. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
