I thought it’s time to get up to date with modern thinking and with my Christmas vouchers I purchased a Karcher foam jet Lance and Autoglym Polar blast/wash/seal. So a leap of faith and started to wash my car and my wife’s car at the same time. All went well mindful of the waiting time (as per instructions) before rinsing. The only thing I noticed was the windscreen on both cars was “water mark” staining which I polished off. The cars looked great and remarkably clean. Driving during the week though in the rain and all the rain just blew off including the windscreen from 40 mph onwards. It was as if I’d applied that Rain-X product. I was pleasantly surprised for no real effort although are you meant to encourage the foam with a brush or sponge. What do you do?. In hindsight next time I’d wash one car at a time.

One at a time is definitely the way forward.

It's an excellent trio of products, though I trade out the Polar Wash for Maguires UHD shampoo (In a bucket) as I find it a better product with a bit more "bite".

I don't tend to agitate the snowfoam, i just let it dwell, though if heavy dirt, i have been known to do a second coat.
I do have a few detailing brushes for things like the RR lettering and any badges, which i do use on the 2nd snowfoam to gentle get into the gaps in the lettering. Now

When I snow foam (ie treat my car to a spar treatment) I:

Pressure wash to clear and loosen
Snow foam and wait
Pressure wash to rinse
Hand wash with mit
Pressure wash to rinse
Drag dry with big micro fibre towel


If I just did snow foam and rinse I would not expect good results. It just cannot decontaminate the paint enough without agitation, hence the mit wash.
