xlifter or easylift - L320 2013

I have looked and in honesty I prefer the xlifter interface, but can either be controlled only via phone without the controllers?
Anyone with experience I would love to hear - on both models. I want it basically as my wife is a hobbit. It would be nice for her to have it set low via a phone to get in and out.... and lets be honest, its a pretty cool toy as well Smile

I use an Easylift full system and have done for a number of years. I believe X Lifter is fairly new to the party so i have no idea what that can do that an easylift cant? I would have said it can’t be much different as there is only so much that can be done when using a piggyback suspension ECU.

Always been very happy with what i have, and the App to control it or by using the controller hidden in the ashtray out of sight Thumbs Up 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

Thank you buckster, the only thing that stood out was auto leveling - can yours do this? I cant really see me needing it tbf. The easylift looked a PITA to install in comparison but it may be better than spending Β£200 odd more.
Can you stand outside the car, use your phone, and lower it? Smile

Yes can be slammed via controller or app. The Easylift can self level but not a feature i have ever needed, the only benefit i can see for that would be if you had a rooftent and wanted to camp on a slight slope!

I wouldn’t be fooled into the fitting times and ease of fitting as they would both be a pain as you have to remove all the plugs on suspension ecu then add the loom provided and plug it all back in, in a fairly tight space under the drivers side Laughing i guess the X Lifter would be slightly quicker as you dont need to add the extra controller, but in my eyes if the tech app failed then the controller would be your best friend as a back up Thumbs Up

Hope this helps 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

Thank you Buckster Smile Very informative Smile - it may not be worth the extra Β£ then.
Have you ever tried to use the app without the controller in the car? as in can you just use the module without manual control I wonder...

Never tried to use without the controller, but if you drop Max an email at Land Rover Passion he will answer all your questions and is a very helpful guy.

M5 has been in the family around 15 years now and is a keeper Thumbs Up

Many thanks. They certainly are absolute beasts for their age and due to the amount of UK right hand drive facelift models made the values are now climbing very fast, and considered by many as one of the best M power models ever made due to being last of the manual 6 speed Thumbs Up

I tuned and modded my mates 335D stage 2 + gearbox etc and tbh there wasnt much difference in power between it and an m5 - bar sound.... got the m5 is evil! BMW make some lovely motors.... but this far north they are no use half the year haha.

Quick question Buckster, if I may. What do you use the xlifter for? What are the day to day benefits of it? Cheers!

Hi,

It can be handy for all sorts of things. Main reason for my use is extra height or lift while off-road, the ability to lower to make it easier to hitch up trailers. Also we use it to put the car on the bumpstops when camping for easy access to fridge in boot and for access to items stored on the roof Thumbs Up 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black
