Blind Spot Detection Failure

Hi guys,

On a long run I notice that despite the yellow LED being illuminated, blind spot detection yields no alerts.

Any thoughts? Blocked sensor? Where are they?

Thanks in advance

Illuminated LED means it’s not working. A friend with an Evoque had this and ended up with a new unit.

My wife’s Evoque did the same - though it often worked for a few minutes and when it stopped working gave a warning on the dash as well as illuminating the light. RRS MY17 SDV6 AB

I have had this a couple of times but got a warning message in the dash and then the amber warning triangle stayed illuminated even after the warning message disappeared. On each occasion the error disappeared after shutdown and giving the car a chance to go to sleep. I think the sensors are in the rear bumpers but I may be wrong. Current: Volvo XC90 T8 Inscription Pro PHEV with some optionals on top

lol. Was certain you were wrong Re the LEDs. Having had the car 4 years.

But alas. You are right.

Though we did have a cycle carrier attached to the toeball and electrics. I think it shuts the system down when you plug in a trailer (just like rear parking sensors). Doh!!

Thanks all!

Hi

I’m also getting message “blind spot detection blocked”. Cleaned the sensors behind the bumber, but message still popping up.
Also the system on the right side is not working, so I’m expecting a faulty sensor. This sensor costing eur 650,- without fitting. Therefore decided to buy one used from ebay. Here comes my questions:
1. Can this sensor be replaced without removing the whole rear bumper?
2. Is this plug and play, or does it need calibration or a software update?
It a 2014 L494 AB.
