AdBlue Question

Just got my first AdBlue low warning. From what I've read, I can just buy something like https://www.amazon.co.uk/Status-Adblue-Lit...op?ie=UTF8 pour that in and all's good?

Anyone recommend a specific AdBlue or are they pretty much the same as long as they have the right number?
Do I need to do anything else like reset something or is it just automatic? (after an hour or so i read)

Get it anywhere ie petrol station, Halfords or B&M etc and fill it up like you would the washer reservoir, no reset necessary MY18 SCV8 Satin flux silver

LR do mine for free, I think they think I'm on some sort of plan. That said I emptied five litres of the stuff (bought at Shell garage) into the tank yesterday myself, low level warning went off after 15 secs or so. Ferrari F430 Spider F1

I never knew JLR paid for ad blue?

When I had a diesel I averaged Β£15-20 a month of the stuff!

Try and find a garage that has it on draft, much easier to fill and cheaper than the bottles.

I think if you have a service pack/plan with LR it is free, if not you pay Β£30 per time. Prob cheaper to do yourself but i'm just lazy, plus they are around the corner from me!

Only garage i have ever seen with it on draught was on the island of Anglesey, it seemed quite nice to fill up with diesel then lift the hood and fill the adblue also, except it was incredibly slow at filling and started to get conscious of the fact I was creating a tailback of impatient motorists Smile MY18 SCV8 Satin flux silver

I took my car to Guy Salmon SW London (their new flagship site) for it's service in Nov. I checked that they'd fill the adblue and they told me tat at present they are allowing previous customers (so you don't have to have current work scheduled, just work completed previously) to drive up and top up for free (it's all out of a big tank, on draft, out the back. You don't even leave your car.
Might be worth checking before everyone starts driving there!

What can I say? I went there one day to buy some and the bloke said we do it for free so I've been getting free refills for the past two years. I didn't even buy the car from them... Ferrari F430 Spider F1

Just a (maybe) daft question, I have never had a car that needed adblue.
Does it impact the MPG or is it purely for emissions?
Is it vital for the running of the engine or could it be disconnected? RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6 2014

It doesn’t alter the mpg, just the emissions. The car will not start if the adblue is not replenished. It is illegal to disconnect it as this affects the tax rating of the car/CO2g. Adblue is very cheap and is a 2 minute job to fill. The 10 litre container has its own spout and costs just a few quid from B&M. ALDI are even doing it now I noticed. As an aside, Land Rover Conwy filled mine FOC.

Hi,
it is to control the emissions and yes has to be working,
its not a daft question as we had our RRS for over 2 years and near 20k miles and the only ad blue that ever had was at the annual service top up by the stealer (which was free/included as nothing is free Rolling Eyes in the service pack)

If its using lots then its trying to keep the emissions in the correct parameters so the way you use you car affects how much is used

Thumbs Up

Going to have to stop posting now as it looks like I have finally got a 911 Cool
