Roof Rack Plugs?

Don't know if anyone can help but I need to know the part name/no of the small round black rubber roof rack plugs that fit along the black trim strip on the roof?

I have just found one missing on the passenger side of my car and that small hole left un-covered on the roof was the cause of the vibrating and banging noise I could hear at speed on the passenger side, which I have been trying to locate and has been driving me nuts for ages! Shocked

I have covered it now with some black electrical tape I had on board (noise gone Thumbs Up ) but if anyone can help me locate one of the proper plugs to do the job properly I would be very grateful. Pete

Do you mean these RZM500041 ? I also fitted some extra ones of the DBE500013 clip when I fitted roof rails as there was only one each end which might help make it a bit more secure rather than just three plastic plugs. You might find the stem part of the plug is still stuck in the threaded part in which case you will have to dig it out, although if needed you can actualy buy the threaded boss as well separately.

Cheers

Hi Col.

That's amazing thank you! that's exactly the part I need and now I have a number it should be easier to find. I'll have a look to see if the thread is still in the hole. I just hope that wherever that hole leads to, it drains because its been in the rain for goodness knows how long.

Hope all is well with you down in NZ.

All good here, sweltering at the moment temp's low to mid 30's Cool

This is the threaded bit, screws into roof panel with sealer and blind internal thread so any water can't really go anywhere except out of drain channels.

Cheers
Col

Hi Col.

Very Jelous... it's brass monkeys here, absolutely freezing cold at the moment. Salt all over the road and driving today I had the heated seat on and steering wheel on.

Thanks for the info, The irony is I have had a quicker response from someone on the other side of the world than I would have had from ringing my local LR parts department 7 miles away! Laughing Laughing Pete
