Safety issue possibly - Rear door opened on its own

Guys - Wife was dropping our 2 boys off at Nursery this morning and a mile or so into the journey she felt and heard air rushing into the cabin.. to her astonishment she look over her shoulder to notice the off-side door was open and flapping around. Luckily our our boys were well strapped into their car seats... was a little alarming though. She then tried to close the door a few times from the outside and eventually it latched close. Any ideas please? Has this happened to anyone? We don't think it was operator error... Smile

trying to open or close the doors when they are frozen creates this problem..the door might seem to be closed but the latch isnt engaged so when the door de-frosts it opens .

Ok thanks for the insight..... There was no frost on the car this morning and I pre-heated the car for 10 minutes before my wife drove it. The car is set up to auto-lock after driving away... Shouldn't a light show up on dashboard if the door isn't closed properly?

Have a word with your local dealer.

Warning about to Rant.... really F*cked off today when my wife called and said she cant open the door now to put our 1.5year old into car after Nursery.... Unfortunately dealer did not pick up the phone as called at 5:50. Lets see if I can get the car recovered to the dealer and get a loan vehicle. I have never experienced this issue with another car and its Bloody Dangerous!!! I love my RRS - but am P*ssed off....

Although I haven’t had the issues with the door coming open, I have had issues with my passenger rear door not opening.
The problem with mine was that it was getting stuck in the double lock position (deadlock)
Therefore it still could not be opened from either inside or outside the car.

In the end I had to remove the door card from the inside with the door closed (which was an absolute ball ache)
I could then get the door undone and I then replaced it with a new lock/actuator assembly.

This seemed to do the trick, although I am expecting to have issues on the other doors in future if it is a known problem.
