Been a while since I was here - life, stuff, etc! Anyway, the L320 TDV8 is still going strong despite getting very little attention from me, nary a wash.

Anyway, I've noticed recently that it makes, seemingly at random, what I can only describe as a quiet 'pweeep' noise, when locked and sitting on the drive. It's not exactly a beep, I'd definitely write it as "pweep" - almost polite.

Any ideas? It's really hard to search for a mystery noise that isn't exactly a beep  2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S

Could it be the air suspension self leveling?

I don't think so - at least it isn't a noise anything like the car makes when it "sits down" after I turn the ignition off, which is more of a gentle groan! (I can understand that, I groan when I sit down too )

It sounds very electronic so I was wondering if the alarm sounder is known to make any noises as it dies, for example.. the Omega I used to own was known for that, for example - shortly before the alarm sounder self combusts.. 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S

Yep Steve! Well, at least if it isn't a "standard" noise then it's unlikely to be the car complaining about anything major

I used to get this when I first got mine, I put it into a recommended indie with a small list of things to get sorted , he was pretty certain that the bonnet switch was causing the beep, have not had it beep since having new bonnet switches, incidentally mine does have a tracker but I have not subscribed to it.

I am newly in love with the word 'pweeep', too bad I already named my son 5 years ago because Pweeep would have been a serious contender! (He's called Parrrp).
