2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Bali Blue
Just had a puncture

I really struggled changing the wheel. The jack and especially it’s handle are really pants. I put the car in off-road mode but ever time I managed to get some clearance between the ground and the wheel, there was a hiss of air and the wheel lowered itself back to the ground! Anyone else had a struggle recently?

The tyre had a large screw deeply embedded in the centre of the tyre. It was repaired by the local tyre shop and will be alright until I get new tyres at the end of the year. Maybe a set of new wheels with 255/55-20’s are on the cards...

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

Bear in mind that off road mode still has 2+ inches of travel available. You put it in off road height, start to jack, and the system keeps pushing the wheel downward. That's standard. The front has 8 inches of total travel, the rear has 10 inches, so you can have 6-7 inches of lifting to do from normal height, 3-4 inches from off road height.

The standard jack is a liability. Consider a trolley or bottle jack if you might want to jack the vehicle more than once or twice. Otherwise, buy a spare LR jack. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Many owners buy Mercedes Sprinter bottle jacks. The standard scissor jacks are, in the eyes of many, not fit for purpose. Kev
