Just got my first RRS!

After a few years of fast AMG saloons I thought I’d change to something different. The choice was something exotic or something fairly wafts and luxury. The wife wanted the later so you know she got her own way 🤣

So after enquiring about a 2013 RRS with the 5.0V8 but ended up buying this 2015 4.4 TDV8 over the phone without ever seeing it. Usually this would’ve been a bit of gamble followed by deep regret. Thankfully not the case! When I arrived to pick it up, the heavens had opened and I barely even got a chance to look round it but I could instantly see it was a looked after example. Paperwork done I drove the 60 miles home, grinning like mad, it was just so different from my old 2015 E63. So much more comfy, felt so much better built and generally just a far nicer place to be. Sound system also didn’t suck like the HK system in the AMG!

Having only driven an older RRS I hadn’t expected much in the handling department but I was amazingly surprised, these active roll bars are bloody witchcraft. I can still enjoy a B road if I wish, that was the biggest thing I was worried about, so pleasantly surprised. After 700hp I feel it needs a bit more poke so I think I’ll get it mapped soon.

Spec wise, I’ve tried to decode the vin to see what options it has. For instance I thought all ABs had blind spot indicator but I can’t seem to find it.

Anyway, some pictures...

Welcome to RRS

yes agree great cars to be in anytime..especially on longer cruises..

The blind spot warning indicator is kind of hidden in the wing mirror hlass..if you look carefully you should see two squares faintly etched...a amber led lights up when car is approaching blindspot then full etched figure lights and starts flashing once it is in blind spot

I am pretty sure all ABs came with it as standard.

Thanks for the welcome!

Strangely, can’t see any etchings, certainly have never seen anything light up in the mirror glass and I can’t see any options to turn it off in the dash menu. Properly strange!

Who’s recommended in the south east to map it? I gather get around 390hp?

Not sure about remqps..

Sure somebody here will know someone. They recommend.

I will check on my car re options to turn off..etc..

Possible it might have become standard on 2016my

Very nice, i've just stepped out of an M3 comp pack (prior to the M3 was a Gallardo Spyder and S63 coupe) into a RRS, I collect it Thursday (2016 , MY17 Autobiography) so looking forward to getting into something a little different.

The blind spot indicator was an option on pre-2017 but came standard fit from MY17 onwards, very useful to have!

Yep a bit gutted as for something with so much visibility you get a massive blind spot, oh well I just have to bend my neck a little more to see.
