Good luck and breaking down is never a nice experience at all. What car do you have and where about are you? 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

idi which motorway as I broke down northbound on the M1 jnc.38 @ 9.00 yesterday morning and thankfully only waited about 45 minutes for help. Mine let me drive backdown the motorway to jnc.29 where I took it and got a call about 3 hours later quoting me £935 to replace cracked manifold all including labour and vat. Should collect on Friday.

if you can get someone that can do a proper flush which flushes out like 99% of the oil in there then fresh stuff.

Like any complex car, meticulous maintenance is the order of the day, and as the old girls stretch on in life gaps in this devotion start to tell by way of breakdowns (as opposed to agonising additional service-time / MOT bills). I've had a ton of 10+ year old luxury barges in the psst, including a delicious V8 SD1, and some ended up as dogs. I didn't care because I thoroughly enjoyed them despite their inevitable foibles.

We are all in need of a good flush at some point in our lives, good on ya! And totally worth it vs running something painfully ordinary. Thumbs Up L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso
RRS TDV6 HSE Lux (MY2011)... Nara Bronze / Arabica - now gone!

Back again, yesterday was hard I kept looking outside on the drive thinking my car had been nicked then thankfully remembering it was in the garage, reading your post ilard and agree some are less fortunate but I think if you really like your motor you keep on top of it. Personally bought this SDV6 in late October last year and had the LR re-call done on it that was outstanding (crank sensor) and then in Jan this year the 7/8 year service carried out so with this job will have spent nearly 2 grand but still worth it for the drive and luxury you get. Now Rover V8 SD1 they were lovely cars and I had the pleasure to own one when I got married in 1988 and toured Scotland on our honeymoon in and it didn't breakdown thankfully. Laughing
