'Range Rover' wheel centres

I am looking for a set of the black 'Range Rover' wheel centres and wondered if a) you can still get them and b) how much they are if you can?

I would like genuine ones and not the cheap ebay copies. I checked Britpart and they only seem to sell 'Land Rover' ones.

My wheels are as per the picture and they are 20" style 3 I believe.

Thanks.

Pete

Hi Pete, I know you say that you don't want cheap eBay copies but why not? I've had some eBay ones on mine for 2 years when I replaced the standard Land Rover ones. They still look brand new. They were only about a fiver too. Kev

Hi Kev.

I kind of assumed they would be poor quality but if you have had a set for two years without any issues then that puts a whole new perspective on it and saves me a few quid! Very Happy I'll give them a go.

The retaining lugs don't look that strong but have you found them to fit well??

My current ones must be original and they have bubbled around the edges and lost colour.

I also need a single silver wheel nut if anyone has one spare I can buy???

Thanks. Pete

Yeah I would. I haven't had any problems with mine at all and they all still look good. I think the key to keeping them tip-top is not to use alloy wheel cleaner. Just a regular wash with the leftover water and car shampoo from washing the bodywork works for me.

I did have a look back at my emails for you to find the seller I bought them off on eBay but unfortunately they no longer exist on there. I paid £5.89 for all four, they may have gone up a bit in the last 24 months however.

On your wheelnut, just type RRD500290 into Google. You can buy them in singles for about £1.60 a piece. By the time you factor in postage, if you want to buy one, it may be cheaper for you to nip to your local LR parts desk.

The nuts, both genuine and aftermarket, on these cars tend to swell under the cap and when this happens it's difficult/impossible to get the right size socket on. I ended up renewing all of mine a while back. I bought them from JGS4X4. £31.75 for 20.

I ended up putting a small bead of clear silicone around the cap in an attempt to prevent crud getting in there and accelerate corrosion/swelling.

You can buy solid nuts which are more expensive, but they tend to rust after a while. Kev

Thanks Kev. Appreciate the advice Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Its only the one which has blown and rusted but I will have a look at the others.
£15 now for a set of four caps, which isn't a lot better than £50!

My 'ebay' wheel centres arrived today. They looked ok, the numbers were all the same as the original ones on the car and they were the same diameter... looking good, so I tried one just to be sure and it doesn't fit tightly and rolls around and rattles Sad

The fitting lugs don't seem to be very good and one broke. I've asked the seller for a refund.

If anyone knows who can supply a decent set that fit tightly please let me know!

Although the Mrs said 'why not just go and buy the original ones and then you know they will fit' - I had to have a double take at that, she was actually saying it was ok to go and buy the expensive parts! Very Happy Laughing

I asked Robin @ Duckworths for some new RR centre caps. No longer available.
LR ones (black) are £27.88+VAT for 4 with forum discount.
Currently have cheap ebay "RR" ones that rattle as described above. Getting a little tatty though - suspect poor quality + wheel cleaner (non-acidic) don't mix Visitor from fullfatrr.com

Sorry Pete. When the wife asks again - just blame me. Laughing

They certainly are not the ones I bought a couple of years ago. It's a shame the seller I bought from no longer exists Sad Kev

Thanks Guys. No problem. I will try and set of originals, they don't sound too expensive. Land Rover ones will be ok as it will match the badge on the grille. Happy with that Very Happy
