Gearbox F but only when reversing

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me or point me in the right direction, basically sometimes when reversing the dreaded F comes up on the dash, it still reverses but once put into park it doesn't come back out until I've switched the car off and back on, I have found it does it more often if reversing up a hill, I have had it to the garage and all that came up on the diagnostic was the park/neutral switch but since they cleared that it hasn't come back up even though the dreaded F still comes up and it sticks in park once the F is showing. Any help would be appreciated, cheers

Check gearbox fluid levels !!

Abit of an update, gearbox oil has been checked and is the level it should be, garage is baffled as no faults other than a high voltage fault showing, really stuck on this one so if anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated. Cheers
