2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

2.7 tdv6 harmup

How quickly should my 2.7 tdv6 harmup? Doesn’t seem to be as quick as previous cars I’ve had which have been petrol. This is at normal temps not sub 5 degrees with aux heater.

Thank you Andy, your a man of many words are the thermostats reliable on theses I’ve always replaced them in the past as service item but it looks a bit involved on this engine. Steve

It’s an external stat.
At the bottom of the radiator.

No they aren’t commonly replaced.

Have the EGRs been blanked? This slows down coolant warm up

Hi,
from memory our 2.7 would be showing normal on the water temp after about 3-4 miles with heat coming through the vents well before that.

but if you want nice warm oil in your engine think more like 15-20 miles

amazing the difference an oil temp gauge makes you think about being "mechanically sympathetic"

Thanks all, that was a lots of words Andy yes I have blanked the EGR’s. Mines still not at full temp after 4/5 miles, info on the net shows the thermostat in the middle of the V under the throttle body?

Yep as above, 3 miles all day long at around 60mph. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

Probably because of the blanking.

It’s not in the V on diesels

Diesels are far slower to warm up than petrols - sounds all normal to me. 07MY RRS TDV6
