United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Zermatt Silver

My indie reckons it would be around £3,000 he was doing one a couple of weeks ago when mine went in for a service, he let me have a look around it as the body was of the chassis, his labour charge is £60.00 per hour & he said it is a 7 hour job. He had not had any for a while but has 3 over the next few weeks.

Sounds like it should be nearer £2.3k then...

7 hours labour @ £60/h = £420
2 off new Borg Warner turbos @ £750 each = £1500
VAT = £384
Total = £2304

No doubt there will be some extra bits and bobs, gaskets etc. Kev

The first rule of RRS Club is: Never, ever let a main dealer touch your RRS.
The second rule of RRS Club is: Never, ever let a main dealer touch your RRS.
The third rule is: find yourself a decent specialist indy and use them.

And my figure was a mistype - should have been £3.5k+ which is dealer figures. A decent indy will do it for less than that, and do a better job too. Turbos are about a grand each and the body is lifted (a couple of hundred quid depending on hourly rate) then the turbos are changed (a few hundred quid depending on hourly rate). 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Back in the day of Colmworth and RS Turbos and the like we had turbo timers. These would keep the engine ticking over after initial switch of.

Agree with everything from above. Idle before switch off, keep the oil fresh and change the air filter at least once a year.

Yeah I had an Impreza RB5 years and years ago that had a turbo timer fitted. I’ve been looking to see if they can be fitted to these but not had much luck finding anything. 2009 3.6 TDV8 HST
