United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red

An update on my coolant issue with my car, i was talking to an ex jlr technician yesterday and explained my symptoms, he suggest i remove egr pipes going to the throttle body and check for water,
Sure enough, i removed the pipes At the throttle body end and drivers side is dry as snuff, passengers side wet, slightly sludgey.
I’m now wandering could a failing egr/cooler have been the issue all along ??
