Seat Covers

Hi Guys,

Does anyone actually know how the top and base seat covers are fastened to the foam and/or frame from the factory and how a replacement would be fitted by a technician?

Some damage has occured to one of my seats and I'm wondering if the seat will still be as secure as it was from the factory if the cover is replaced.

Thanks!! Non JLR Vehicle

Does no one have access to Topix for a 2018 RRS onwards (Autobiography seats) that can pull the service manual for the removal of seats and seat covers and the fitting of seat covers and seats?

If anyone could would help!

Thanks! Non JLR Vehicle

Hi Mate,

The seat coming out is fine, I get that part is simple.

Its getting the seat leather off and on the base as it came out of the factory.

I'm reading some online service manuals but can't figure out how the seat leather is attached to the base.

I know you need clips and hog ties to put it back onto the base which doesn't seem too permanent to me but what do I know I guess? Non JLR Vehicle

I had the seat base leather cover replaced on my 2018 RRS by a specialist re-trimming company and the result was perfect. It took about 2-3 hours in total.
