Phone holder

What phone holder/cradle are people using. Most of the time my phone sits in the drink tray as I don't need to see it normally.
However, I find the installed Satnav a bit rubbish and prefer Google maps. my issue is I can't find anywhere to mount the phone without a wire trailing across to it (I would like to hide the cable away) without blocking stereo and our heater controls. I would rather not put it on the windscreen either. Many thanks for all input.

Cheers.

I have a simple round magnetic base on the vent between the steering wheel and the existing nav display - doesn't help re cables, though, because if I plug it in that trails up the dash..

They were cheap enough, though, that I could buy several and have one in each car. Except the MINI with it's round vents that nothing sticks to.. d'oh! Whistle Mine are "iOttie" brand, but they're all just Chinese clones I think.

In an ideal world I'd have a wireless charging mag base .. except the phone doesn't do wireless charging, so that defeats the point of that Mr. Green 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S

I use this one;

Sits steady on the cradle (next to gear stick), USB wire to the socket in arm rest; charges my phone wireless when put on, good visible when using Google map/Waze. Really content with.

This is the one I went for in the end. Nice and neat when the phone is not in there, solid when the phone is there but it doesn't get around the wire issue. But I only use the wire on longer journeys as the charge is fine for short trips.

I think these are fabulous. Hold the phone very securely via the vent slats. I have an iPhone XS Max in a case.

Definitely Brodit, phone and car model specific not some universal fitting.

Cheers
