2015 RR SVR Purchase

Hi everyone,

I’m in the market for an SVR. Came across a 2015 in black, 22k miles with polished 21” wheels, carbon interior and ebony / ivory interior. It’s for sale in a non franchised garage only comes with their 1k / 1 month warranty.. ( George mackay Edinburgh )

What does extended LR warranty cost - is it worth extending for piece of mind or Better to put money aside to pay for any repairs etc?

What’s the average price of servicing, brake and tyres?

Are there any common faults to look out for - to specifically check when viewing the car?

Any advice appreciated.

The Consumer Rights Act 2015 is your friend here. Frankly, any car dealer who tells you that 1k/ 30 days warranty is all you get is trying to pull your pants down and you should think carefully about spending money with them. They don't put a warranty on for your benefit, it's to give them some cover for repairs which they would otherwise be liable for. Of course there may be a communication issue here.
It is also widely recommended that you pay some of the price of the car (deposit?) on a credit card as the credit card company will be jointly liable should the wheel come off and you end up with a lemon and no redress from the garage. This covers purchases from £100 to £30,000.
There are lots of topics on here about warranty, main point at issue is that LR warranty (which is through a separate warranty company) won't cover a snapped crank. As it's not the 3.0ltr diesel that shouldn't concern you. Warranty Direct is another supplier, have a search and decide.
Good luck with your search.

I did find it odd that no warranty was offered - especially as most I’ve seen seem to offer 3/6 months.. I’ll question this though.

They don’t want you to think you have a warranty other wise you will come back with problems !
That they have to fix out their own pocket.

I’ll call the garage tmrw and ask about why there’s no warranty offered? So from what the consumer right law states, it’s a minimum of 3 months warranty they have to provide and their obliged to make any repairs up to 6 months?

Someone on m3cutters just posted a article which claims the RR is the most unreliable car you can buy for the second year running. It’s. 2019 article

Can any SVR owners chime in about reliability? I’m in 2 minds about the purchase as I don’t want to be going back and forth to the garage sorting out issues. I know my in laws 2017 RRS 3.0 diesel was fairly reliable. I’d plan to keep the SVR 6-12 months max
