Service indication

I'm getting a service required in 1800 miles indication on startup. Car was new 2017 September and now has 41412 miles on the clock. the warning has also appeared on the 'In Control' app.
So what's the problem I hear you say. Well it said exactly the same thing last month so I booked it into the dealership for a service. two days later the indication dissipated from both indicators. I waited a couple of days but it did not return. So went into the dealership to consult and was informed that from the maintenance records I was not due a service yet and there had been some problems with the 'in control' app. Hence cancelled the service.
The indication reappeared yesterday and ever since.
Long winded story so apologies.
My question is has anyone had a similar spurious indications?
I'm suspicious because since the first indication I have covered at least 500 mines but the has remained 1800.
Advice gratefully received.

Its 12months or 12000miles (may be wrong on the mileage)whatever comes first. My car has only done around 2500 miles since the last service. Its 12 month anniversary is 25 Nov & its booked in for then. My 1800 mile indicator came up about a month ago. The car has done about 100miles since then, but its now reading "service due" with the spanner sign so the 1800 miles meant nothing to mine as its the 12month timeframe.. If your doing big miles it probably flags up when close to reaching 12000 miles

Thanks Lindab. I thought it was 16000 miles. I do quite high mileage, typically 20k per year. This is my fourth RRS but never seen this before.
I’ll book it back in with the dealership.
Hugh

Hi,

How long time and mileage wise since your last actual service Question

If its not coming up to 16k or 12 months then its NOT due, wait until it is due, book it in and get them to update/clear/rectify the early notification when they do the service at the Correct time/mileage

If you dont have any paperwork to confirm last service you can always check it online with your chassis number

if you book it in early for a service I am sure the dealership with relieve you of your £££ early as well Rolling Eyes

Thanks everyone. I’m now convinced it is a service indicator fault. The ‘service due’ milage is increasing????
It was serviced at 31600 miles. About four months ago.
Booked in with the dealership.
Cheers. Hugh
