Pug 207

I've just spent two hours driving my son's 1.4 Peugeot 207 along various twisty roads. It was very reminiscent of the 205s I had as a youngster and a reminder of how much fun 'wheel at each corner', light, cars (especially French ones) can be. Not as comfortable as, or with as much oomph as, the RRS, but, none-the-less, darn good fun that required a bit of mechanical empathy and planning to get the most out of it.

It may do 47 mpg, but it is beaten by the RRS on the motorway.

Sometimes, 'back-to-basics' is very rewarding. Very Happy

205's will always be cool, 207's on the hand never will be Laughing

I've had a couple of French hatches in my time, here's a couple

306 Gti-6 and a Dturbo

1.9 D turbo went like hell

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Cairns Blue

I too occasionally use our Son’s Fieata Diesel and it has plenty of torque and feels very nippy on the country roads but is out of its depth on the dual carriageways & Motorway. Many years ago I also owned a 205 GTI and a brand new 306 D-Turbo in blue. That car seemed to do a million miles to the gallon but the young family out grew the car. I test drove a 306 XSI in Salisbury and that was a nippy car but didn’t ever get one.

I owned a Fabia VRS when I was 19. Loved that car

Just bought another one, and it's just as much fun as I remember Laughing
Mapped to 170bhp, 70+mpg, and decent in the twisty stuff, if a little nose heavy...
