MY07 Cluster swap issue

Hi chaps,

as you know our 1st gen clusters come with some ageing issues making the vehicle unusable and have others looking at us strange when the hazards come on by themselves.

Long story short, I reworked the PCB a couple of times giving me a few months without any issues till the IPC communication lost issue came up again.

I decided to replace the cluster with a brand new one using the IIDTool.
Loaded the saved CCF and had it to learn the VIN. To no availability, the vehicle couldn’t sync with it, throwing HDC and suspension errors.
The old cluster worked fine up to this point but replacing the old cluster in order to make the car usable again till I find a solution, now the car won’t start with the old cluster either 😳
No errors come up with the old cluster.
In both situations I performed a vehicle reset to no availability again.

Any instructions to fix the issue would be welcome. 🧐

Cheers,

Steve

I know on my 2010-2013 cluster you can read the chip direct with a USB reader .

Maybe get one of them ?

A full dump and then load on the exact same model would be the best way.

Finally fixed it, after I loaded the CCF from scratch and had the cluster flashed with the VIN of the car.
Engine wasn’t starting but leaving ignition ON for 15 minutes did the trick.
The CCF propagated and finally the engine turned Smile
