Retro fit heated seats

Hi.
Has anyone fitted heated seats in there S model.

Did Land Rover put the looms in on the line?

I know I will need new front seats with heater pads and also ne heater control but was just wondering if it's possible or for I just go aftermarket.

I think on the original RRS the loom had every connection on it and they just used the ones required for the particular vehicle's specification. You could lift the seat bases out of one of the front seats (easy job with just 4 bolts underneath) and have a look if there are any available connections.

I'm not sure if they would also need activating in the CCF. The HVAC panel would have to be changed and you might need to tell the car that you've changed it. This is because the system disables heated seats (amongst other things) as part of the battery protection system if battery / conditions require it.

Complicated beasties, these. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I doubt it has wiring. (well disco owners haven't).

It's 4 wires per seat. 2 for temp. sensor and 2 for element.
Andy yes you need new panel and enabling.

The factory ones are rather hot

It looks like aftermarket will be the way to go.

Thanks
