Being looked at by Joyces - an LR specialist in Trowbridge.

They converted to the newer style compressor (AMK?) and it had been perfect until this latest episode.

Well the compressor was replaced under warranty a week (and several hundred miles both onroad and offroad, towing and not) ago and so far no error messages and no problems.

Seems as though their assessment of a faulty part was on the money.

I am having the same problem with the suspension going into amber warning and sometimes goes into red warning (30mph max) I have a l320 4.2 sc and on the 4x4 info it shows my front right(drivers) when bouncing up and down even when I'm stationary.

the car raises and lowers ok, sometimes a bit slow on the front so I have ordered a new height sensor and I will be fitting this at the weekend. I will report back next week to see if it fixes it.

Sounds like a height sensor. Calibration may be required after installation also. Kev

That's the dash error message that I was getting, turned out that my compressor was knackered.
Had it replaced and never seen that message since.

Is there any way to tell (without looking at the unit on the car) whether it's a Hitachi or AMD unit? Did it vary by model year for example?

I had this. Started infrequently and built up over a few months.
I noticed that it would then start to take an extra long time to go into access or raised mode.

Got to the point where it was on all the time. Mine was compressor and leaking front struts Sad Cost me about £4000 that year with everything else that needed doing).
