So quick update collected the car last night and delighted with it. I’ve managed to haggle an additional 6 months warranty on the car so it’s covered for 12 months RAC Platinum warranty.

39mpg.... You won't see that in real life unless you drive everywhere at 60mph only. 20 something more likely. |

Likewise on the DAB. Likewise on the suspension creaks on my car I'm not sure you'd get red rubber grease in there without dismantling them though, at which point you might as well change them.. silicone spray might shut them up for a bit, though.

Thanks gents - DAB sounds a bit hit and miss by the sounds of things and the squeaks common. I think I will try the silicon spray for the short term. The annoying thing is it was fairly quiet on collection and first few short drives. Only seems to have gotten worse after playing with the raising and lowering of the suspension.

Heh, my suspension was the same - fine on the test drives, fine on the drive home from the dealer .. but gradually getting squeakier. Ho hum! 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S |

Whenever I'm under the car or have the wheels off, I always give the bushes a quick blast with some silicone lubricant spray. As others have said, avoid WD-40. It may solve the squeak immediately, but it will cause the bushes to break down over time due to the solvent content.

knwatkins do you find the silicon spray works right away or does it take a few applications to eradicate the squeaks ( albeit only for a while ) I will probably change the RRS in 12 months when the warranty expires and depending on how the experience goes may trade up to a newer RRS. If I got a few months out of each application of spray Id be happy,. |

I've only ever used it to solve a squeak once on another vehicle. I sprayed it once and the squeak returned after about 3 days. I then gave it another spray and it never came back.

The rubber absorbes the silicone so in my opinion it’s not doing any harm so no loss. 2012 5.0 SC AB
