England 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey
Black Edition Hi Fi Specs

I have the Harmon Kardon 825W 17 Speaker audio in my 2013 L320 Black Edition. I have always upgraded other vehicles with hifi but have left this alone until now, even though it annoys the hell out of me and is the biggest let down on the vehicle.
Sub is useless, with the door speakers everything rattles including door panels when cranked up and sound quality isnt a pleasant experience to my ears.

Does anyone have any door speaker sizes, specs or wiring diagrams of the 17 speaker 825W HK system that was used? 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

I think I have the wiring diagram, I was thinking of trying the Meridian speakers as they aren’t to expensive and it’s the same premium amp. I need to see if the IAM can be re flashed for meridian software as I’m sure the Gen 2.1 Level 3 IAM is the same between late Sport and Meridian equipped LR4. 2012 5.0 SC AB

Interesting Brit Plumber, thanks for the reply. Do you happen to know the sizes of all the door speakers front and rear? 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

Are you sure it is 825W?

I have this wiring diagram, should be able to download from my gallery if of any use.

Hi Col,

You are correct Bow down its 1200W 17 Speakers. Having looked at the wiring diagram it matches exactly what i have minus the rear entertainment.

I think im going to start by striping all the door panels and sound proof the inside of the doors and boot lid with dynamatt and skinz, and see how that sounds first before progressing on from there Thumbs Up 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

I have the same system in my A/B and to be fair never noticed any issues, but then again my day's of A/C-D/C etc. at full blast have long gone, well I do occasionally when on my own. Rolling with laughter

I have no idea of the sizes and fitting of any of the speakers. The meridian speakers (some remain the same as the HK system) have 2 speakers per position so I think the 17 speakers of the HK become 19 in the Meridian. 2012 5.0 SC AB

Interesting really the Meridian 19 speaker system is rated at 880W the 17 speaker H/K is 1200W so would that not make the H/K system more powerful, not that I have a clue what it all means really as not audio engineer, meridian signature system has 23 speakers if I understand correctly and rated 1700W.

Cheers

I think its all abit of a misconception as 17 speakers isn’t actually 17 speakers looking at the wiring diagrams. I can only find 14 in the car so i think some must be duel voice coil and they count them as a speaker Rolling Eyes

Another manufacturering con to make you think its better than it actually is 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

The Amp is a 15 channel amp driving 17 Speakers in the HK system and 19 in the Meridian (for Disco 4 as speakers are same dims as sport).

2 channels are allocated to the Subwoofer and 1 channel to the centre dash speaker which isn’t always fitted. The surround speakers are one channel each but if I interpret things correctly, are counted as 2 speakers even though it’s only 1 each (possibly 1 speaker within another). 2012 5.0 SC AB

Out of curiosity just had another look at this, not sure L/R know what they have fitted either, as found info. that say's Logic 7 is 600w and another place it say's 850w as originally mentioned, so who knows.
